Jujutsu 

is the martial arts practice that evolved alongside the samurai and has been used by soldiers and law enforcement as a means of subduing, controlling and maiming or even killing an adversary in battle or conflict. 

Jujutsu teaches superior leverage, technique and strategy to overcome weakness. 

Unlike our sports counterparts (judo and BJJ) we practice primarily for self defence, and as a result our training includes; 

  • countering and returning strikes 
  • clinch wrestling 
  • throws and take-downs 
  • grappling 
  • joint locks and submission

practising Jujutsu forces us to confront our weaknesses, physically, mentally and spiritually and overcome our shortcomings as a person to push us into a better state of living and make us (its practitioners) all round better people.

WILL I GET FIT?

Martial arts training (when done right) will get you into excellent shape, and provide you with a far more balanced physic than any other fitness activity or sport. It works every muscle in your body and requires you to build flexibility and strength, balance and power also rhythm and timing! 

 

CAN I TRIAL YOUR CLASSES?

Absolutely! Call, email or fill in our contact sheet to arrange your free trial session.

 

ARE YOUR CLASSES GOOD FOR BEGINNERS?

Yes! We offer easy step by step instruction that anybody can follow and our classes are scalable to any level. Expect to work hard though!

 

ARE YOUR CLASSES SAFE?

Valour has a very low injury rate. This is because we focus on providing good quality technique training.

 

I HAVE AN INJURY. CAN I STILL TRAIN?

Yes. We can scale or alter exercises to work around any injury. Our training offers great general strength, flexibility and mobility exercises that may even assist in rehabilitating your injury (depending on the severity).

 

DO YOU ACCEPT CASUAL STUDENTS?

No. Valour is a results driven dojo. We cater to those looking to learn and get results, therefore we only offer memberships for training schedules of 2 or more days per week.
